Few Highlights From Our April Rare & Fine Wine Online Auction

We are absolutely tickled pink to bring you our April Rare and Fine Wine Online Auction. Value is obvious with many wines starting around $20.

This auction is very strong on New Zealand with some wonderful aged wines including Bordeaux based styles from the wonderful 1998 vintage as well as aged Pinot Noirs from Kusuda, Te Kairanga, Lintz Estate, Ata Rangi, Mt Difficulty and Pegasus Bay to name but a few.

Syrah is bulging with heavy weights Craggy Range Le Sol, Billancia La Collina, Stonecroft and Dry River. Chardonnays from Giesen The Fuder, Easthope Family(formerly of Craggy Range) and an older magnum from Kumeu River. If you like NZ fizz we have Daniel le Brun, Pelorus and 6 packs of Jackson Estate vintage starting at $40 a 6 pack!

Great value Ozzies including wines from the heralded 96 and 98 vintages starting at $20 per bottle. If you like them big and bold you can’t go past Molly Dooker’s The Velvet Glove from McLaren Vale (a former Wine Spectator Wine of the Year winner) rubbing shoulders with Ben Glaetzer’s Amon Ra, Jim Barry Aramgh, Henschke Hill of Grace and E&E Black Pepper Shiraz.

Italian royalty in the form of Masseto, Gaja, Ornellaia and Solaia are on offer alongside some good value drinkers.

Sauternes has been strong with us for a while now and this auction is no different. Half bottles offer really good value and a great way to finish a meal at this time of year with their wonderful acidity. Try a bottle pre dinner with foie gras for a treat. A palate cleansing champagne before you go onto the main course really gets the dinner party started. We have some great older vintages of Tattinger, Perrier Jouet and an older bottling of Krug Grand Cuvee.

Bordeaux has wines from $16 a bottle through to the First Growths. Highlights from here would have to be the Chateaux Canon and Lascombes from 1982.

New Zealand winemaking history is available with many fortified wines from West Auckland showing how we used to do things.

This truly is a great value auction with many highlights and bargains to be had. Whether you are looking for a 1959 Lafite or a cheeky little New Zealand Pinot Noir with a bit age there is something in this auction for you.

Remember to give us a call if you would like to know anything more about any of the wines as we will give our best to give you all the information you need to make informed decisions.

Happy bidding!
Warmest Regards,
THE WINE AUCTION ROOM
